How Stowpocket works

Last updated September 2026

1. We find candidate deals

We watch major merchants — currently Best Buy, Amazon, Walmart, and Target — for genuine price drops on products worth recommending.

2. Every deal is verified

Before anything goes live, it's verified against the merchant's own listing — today by a person, increasingly backed by tracked price history and automated checks. We confirm: the current price is real, the reference price is one the merchant actually displays (and we record the merchant's own label for it), and the link lands on the real product page. No invented “was” prices, no guesswork.

3. You browse, vote, and comment

Deals are organized by category. Upvote the good ones so the best rise to the top, and leave a comment if you've bought the product — community notes help everyone shop smarter.

4. Get alerted when prices drop

Sign up for alerts on any deal (or the whole feed) and we'll email you when the price moves. Signup uses double opt-in: you get a confirmation email first, and nothing is sent until you click it. One click unsubscribes you any time.

5. Deals expire — honestly

Sale prices end. When a deal's price goes back up or the listing disappears, the deal is marked expired and labeled a dead deal. We never leave stale prices up to bait clicks.

What Stowpocket is not

We don't set prices — merchants do, and the price at checkout is always the final word. We don't sell your data. And we don't run display ads on deal pages; when we eventually earn money, it will be through clearly disclosed affiliate relationships, never through selling your attention.
